Reminder for Minto Fish Trap Tour on June 16<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup><\/strong><\/p>\n

Please be reminded of our plans to tour the ODFW Fish Trap facility from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Monday, June 16th. Salem Chapter Member John Hercher has made arrangements with ODFW Manager, Greg Grembrenner for ten of us to see the inner workings of the fish trap and hatchery facilities located just east of Gates, Oregon near Packsaddle Park. Please contact John Hercher at: 971-209-5936 or <\/span>johnhercher@gmail.com<\/span><\/a><\/u><\/span> if you would like to sign up for the tour. As of press time, there were still two open spots available. <\/span><\/p>\n

Next Membership Meeting Scheduled for June 17th<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Plans for our June 17<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> meeting include a presentation by Brian Paulsen from the Oregon State Marine Board on Boating Safety and the \u001cChanging Dynamics for Outfitters and Guides in Oregon.\u001d Please note that this will be our last monthly membership meeting until September 16<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> as there are no meetings scheduled in July or August.<\/span><\/p>\n

Plans are in the works for the Salem Chapter Picnic on July 12<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> in Mill City <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

At our last Board meeting, it was decided to schedule our Summer Picnic at the residence of Mike Ferris on Saturday, July 12<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup>. The address for the location is: <\/span>210 Santiam Pointe Loop N.E., Mill City, Oregon 97360. <\/span><\/strong> We also plan to circulate a \u001csignup sheet\u001d for the potluck portion of the menu at our next membership meeting on June 17<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup>. The main entrees will include hamburgers and hotdogs provided by the Club. Please plan to attend the meeting and sign up. If you are unable to attend the meeting but would still like to go to the picnic, please contact Linda Chezem with information about your planned contribution to the potluck at: 503-510-2942 or <\/span>hummingbyrds@msn.com<\/span><\/a><\/u><\/span> The picnic lunch will begin at 12:00 noon and you are also welcome to bring your fishing rod to \u001ctest the waters\u001d behind Mike\u0019s house for Steelhead from the bank from 10:00 AM until noon. <\/span><\/p>\n

North Santiam River Guides Association \u001cLearn the River Trip\u001d Held on June 7<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> <\/strong><\/p>\n

Members of the North Santiam River Guides Association conducted their latest \u001cLearn the River Trip\u001d on Saturday, June 7<\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span><\/sup> and covered the stretch of river from Mehama to Stayton. Participating in the float were Salem Chapter members Bob Johnston, Larry Bond, Dave Getner and Mike Ferris. Bob Johnston faithfully provides shuttle service for all the participants at these events.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
